What began as a simple garage addition evolved into a full-scale transformation of an unassuming Northwest Craftsman. When site constraints prevented the planned garage, the design pivoted to reconfigure the house with three strategic additions—including converting the family room into a garage, adding a new family room off the kitchen, and expanding the downstairs bedroom. Structural challenges required raising the entire house and pouring a new foundation. The remodel preserved the kitchen footprint but introduced a dramatic two-story great room with custom cherry cabinetry, hand-forged iron railings, and a balcony echoing the island below. Upstairs, dormers improved functionality, and the relocated master suite (now above the garage)features vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, and a Juliet deck. A Montana Livingstone fireplace anchors the family room, completing the lodge-inspired interiors.
