Cabana night

Medina Cabana

To escape a growing commute, Eastside homeowners built a detached 10’x14’ Cabana just seven feet from their house—a quiet, self-contained retreat that functions as a home office and more. Designed to echo the main home’s style with matching metal roofing and shingle siding, the Cabana features custom pine cabinetry, a raised ceiling with exposed beams, and a cupola that fills the space with natural light. Pennsylvania blue stone wraps the gas fireplace and floors, complemented by in-floor radiant heat and rustic finishes. The roof extends to shelter a fully equipped outdoor barbeque area, while inside, the Cabana includes a networked computer, ventilation for pipe smoking, and a wine cooler for entertaining. With its seamless blend of utility and charm, the owners joke that only a bathroom stands between them and never leaving.
